Shaggy Fold Brae is a small family farm proudly located in Northern Wisconsin. We offer beef for sale by the half animal & registered Highland cattle for livestock.
We rotational graze our fold during the spring, summer, & fall & feed them the hay that we baled (typically) in July – during the winter months. We try to mimic nature with our breeding cycle so that our calves are born in the spring around the time that the Whitetails are having their fawn. We do this for a couple of reasons. First, we want the weather to be better suited for our pasture-born calves & second, we don’t want our babies to be the first, or only, easy-food choice for the wolves & coyotes in our region. We believe it’s best to look to nature & the great historic breeds (& their rich grasslands) for guidance. We’re happy you stopped by & hope you come back often!
